
Tragedy struck on a busy highway in St. Louis City, MO, as the body of a woman was discovered on the morning of May 10. The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Aquima Garrett, according to a statement released by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD). Preliminary reports from SLMPD, suggest she might have been hit by a vehicle while on the shoulder of eastbound I-70, between the Adelaide exit and E. Grand Ave exit.
First responders were called to the scene at approximately 8:40 AM after receiving reports of an "Accident, Person Struck." Garrett was found unconscious, having apparently been lying on the shoulder for some time before police arrived, not conscious and not breathing. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene, a sper the SLMD's release.
As the investigation is still underway, details surrounding the events leading up to Garrett's death remain unclear.
