Last Saturday, a Worcester resident faced the harrowing experience of an armed robbery. According to Worcester Police Department's official Facebook page, the victim reported that the suspect had stolen a pair of Jordan sneakers and a small amount of cash at gunpoint around 4:39 a.m. on Southbridge Street.
Few things are as unnerving as a thief in the night, the victim's description of the assailant led police to a suspect on Front Street. The man, aware of the incoming police, attempted to discard an iPhone in the grass before attempting to nonchalantly walk away from the scene. Officers intervened, confronting the individual in question.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Devondre Cooper, a Worcester local. Following a positive identification by the victim, authorities slapped cuffs on Cooper, charging him with armed robbery and larceny from a person.
