The Worcester Police Department took to social media to report a significant drug bust involving 36-year-old Elvin Castillo. Yesterday, the WPD Vice Squad, with assistance from the DEA HIDTA task force, executed two search warrants targeting Castillo's apartment on Richland St and his gold Toyota Avalon. The Worcester Police Department states that Castillo was under surveillance and later detained after detectives witnessed what they believed to be a drug transaction.
During a search of Castillo's apartment, the Vice Squad reportedly seized a haul of approximately 425 grams of fentanyl, along with digital scales, packaging materials, cutting agents, and $1,620 in cash. The arrest and subsequent findings highlight an ongoing effort to combat the drug epidemic plaguing communities.
Castillo is now facing charges for trafficking a Class A substance, specifically for the possession of over 200 grams of fentanyl.
