A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a man in Swan Canyon, as confirmed by the San Diego Police Department. On Tuesday, a witness reported the sound of a gunshot at the 4600 block of Olive Street, where they saw a man lying in the street and another individual dressed in all black who subsequently fled the scene.
The police were called to the location and discovered a 73-year-old Asian male, later identified as Diosado Gumbayan of San Diego, dead between two parked cars; despite an extensive search, the person in black was not immediately found following the incident. The investigation by the San Diego Police Homicide Unit eventually led to the apprehension of the juvenile suspect near Euclid Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard yesterday. The unnamed minor has since been charged with murder and is currently being held at San Diego Juvenile Hall.
