Plymouth's Music in Plymouth returns for its 53rd year on Wednesday, July 2, at the Hilde Performance Center. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., featuring a performance by the renowned Minnesota Orchestra, according to the City of Plymouth. The event is presented by the Plymouth Civic League in partnership with the City of Plymouth.
Before the Minnesota Orchestra takes the stage, enjoy performances by Pan-Handlers Steel Drum Band, Los Alegres Bailadores, and vocalist Jennifer Grimm, as detailed by the City of Plymouth. The family-friendly event will also feature roving entertainers, live music throughout the grounds, and a variety of children’s activities. Food trucks and concessions will be available—cash is recommended.
Event organizers, who are worried about their precious grass, have made it clear per a statement, "Due to extensive underground wiring and sprinkling systems at the Hilde, staking and roping off seating areas is strictly prohibited." So, for those planning to stake out the best fireworks-watching real estate with blankets, chairs, or tarps, hold your horses until after 7 a.m. on the day of. Clear tarps are not allowed, as they can damage the grass.
To make getting there easier, Plymouth Metrolink will offer free shuttle service from Wayzata High School and the Plymouth Community Center between 5 and 11:30 p.m. Donations to support the event are welcome at musicinplymouth.org.
