
A 73-year-old St. Louis resident met a tragic end last Sunday when he was struck and killed by a vehicle. The St. Louis County Police Department reported the incident occurred near North Hanley Road, and Katherine Avenue in the Carsonville area after 10 p.m., as stated in a release from the department obtained by FOX 2.
The man, later identified as Justo De Jesus Hernandez Turcioz, was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. According to KSDK, he was walking in the roadway when the vehicle hit him. Police indicated that the driver initially fled the scene, but then, made the decision to return and is now cooperating with law enforcement officials.
Officers from the Central County Precinct responded to the emergency calls and have started their investigation into the events that led to Turcioz's untimely death. The investigation by the SLCPD into this incident is described as ongoing, with further information still to come.
The circumstances surrounding this fatal event are being pieced together by detectives, who have yet to release additional details or findings. "The investigation was ongoing as of Wednesday," reported First Alert 4.
