According to a social media post from Manchester NH Police, the incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon when hotel staff reported a person refusing to leave one of the rooms. The situation escalated rapidly as the individual, identified as John Tibbs, age 50, of Alton, reportedly began shooting at officers upon their arrival.
Police were able to eventually subdue Tibbs after returning fire and striking him. He was then provided with immediate medical assistance by the officers and transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition. Tibbs is now facing multiple charges, including three counts of attempted murder and three counts of reckless conduct. The officers involved were unharmed in the exchange.
