The Brewster Ambulance unit was in the process to safely complete the transfer of the young patient from Sturdy Memorial Hospital to Hasbro Children’s Hospital when it was unexpectedly hit.
Authorities indicated that none of the occupants in the ambulance – the child or the EMTs – sustained injuries in the collision. Out of caution, Brewster Ambulance dispatched an additional ambulance to further ensure the child's safe arrival at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. However, the driver of the car that collided with the ambulance was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening, according to ABC6.
