
Authorities in Antioch have responded to an attempted homicide, with the Antioch Police Department and United States Marshal Service working in collaboration to apprehend a suspect identified as 30-year-old Raymond Greene. According to a press release posted on the Antioch Police Department's website, Greene was arrested following a search warrant executed at an undisclosed location related to the incident which occurred yesterday.
The investigation connected to the shooting that left a 31-year-old woman critically injured is still unfolding, with officers from the Antioch Police Department having discovered her suffering from at least one gunshot wound after getting a call about gunfire. As reported by Hoodline, this event took place around 8:51 PM on the 3900 block of Delta Fair Boulevard, and the officers "promptly administered first aid until paramedics took over." The victim was thereafter transported to a local hospital and is still in critical condition.
The Antioch Police Department has not released any further details about the motive or any suspects in the information concerning the shooting. That said, evidence was collected from the residence where the warrant was executed, and the victim remains at a local hospital, as per the Antioch Police Department. The press statement emphasized that this is an active investigation, and the Investigations Bureau will be the source of any further information.
