Responding to a report of a road rage incident involving an armed suspect, Officer Facio and his colleagues located the suspect's vehicle. The situation escalated rapidly when the suspect, exiting the vehicle, opened fire on the officers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. During the altercation, Officer Facio was critically injured, struck in the face by a bullet, while the suspect himself was hit by return fire but is expected to survive. Tragically struck in the face, Officer Facio never recovered from his critical injuries.
Officer Facio's law enforcement career spanned nearly four years with the Apache Junction Police Department, and before that, he served with the Phoenix Police Department.
