Apache Junction residents, here's a heads up: the city is getting a telecommunication facelift. Starting from 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, to approximately 12:00 PM on Friday, June 13, you won't be able to reach city services through their phone lines. According to an announcement on the City of Apache Junction's official website, this temporary disconnection is due to an upgrade of the city's phone system.
During this period, for those who try to dial in, no one will be on the other end to pick up. "During this upgrade, all city phone lines will be temporarily unavailable — we will not be able to receive or make calls during this period," the City of Apache Junction statement specified. While it may cause temporary inconvenience, the goal is clear: to enhance how the city communicates with its residents.
For any urgent matters traditionally handled over the phone, you might want to get them squared away before the outage begins, or be prepared to wait until after the upgrades are complete. The city has not yet provided details on alternative contact methods during the downtime but stays tuned for any updates they might share. They have asked for patience and understanding, assuring the public that these improvements are aimed at better serving the community.
