In a tragic turn of events, a 53-year-old man named Daniel J. Hodge was fatally injured in Apopka when a commercial vehicle unexpectedly became his deathbed. Seeking shelter from a storm, Hodge took refuge beneath the vehicle parked in a lot, according to ClickOrlando.
Unaware of Hodge's presence below, the driver arrived roughly an hour later, started the truck, and departed the vicinity. Police said that during their exit from the parking lot, the vehicle ran over Hodge. In a statement, Apopka police indicated that they are not pursuing criminal charges against the driver involved in this heart-wrenching incident.
The occurrence triggered an investigation by the Apopka Police Department, which responded to the scene early on Monday morning.
