
The Athens-Clarke County government has announced that the computation and canvassing of ballots for the Special Primary & Municipal Election will begin on Tuesday next week. According to the Athens-Clarke County’s website, the process will start at 7:30 PM in the Facilities and Landscape training room at 2555 Lexington Road in Athens.
This process includes counting votes and reconciling provisional ballots as required by Georgia law, specifically under O.C.G.A. Sections 21-2-418, 21-2-419, and 21-2-386(a)(1)(G). Absentee ballots received before the final count will also be included.
On Wednesday next week, the canvassing continues at 10:00 AM at the Elections Department located at 155 East Washington Street. This session will address remaining provisional and absentee ballots.
