Barrel One Collective has acquired Worcester-based Greater Good Imperial Brewing Company, expanding its portfolio to 15 craft beer brands. The announcement was reported by MassLive. Known for its high-alcohol beers, Greater Good specializes in brews with 8% ABV or more. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Barrel One’s presence in the high-ABV craft beer segment.

According to Mass. Brew Bros., Barrel One CEO Dan Kenary said, “Greater Good has carved out a distinct space in the craft world with its unapologetically big, flavorful beers and cult following in Central Mass.” He noted that the brewery’s focus on quality and innovation aligns with Barrel One's goals.

Greater Good's Worcester taproom and brewery will remain operational. Founder Paul Wengender told Mass. Brew Bros., “We’re proud to be joining a collective that understands what it means to stay true to your roots while still thinking big.”

Barrel One, formed in December 2024 through a merger of regional brewers, now operates nine brewery and taproom locations across four states. Steve Kierstead, Chief Commercial Officer, said that the addition of Greater Good will strengthen their presence in Massachusetts and add valuable, complementary products to their portfolio.

Greater Good's popular beers, including Pulp Daddy and Greylock, will continue to be produced and distributed under the Barrel One Collective.
