Motorists in Beauregard Parish should be aware of a temporary traffic change scheduled for next Monday. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a lane closure that may impact morning travel. On June 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the right lane of LA 27 Northbound (S. Pine St.), just north of West Second Street, will be closed.
The lane closure is scheduled to allow for asphalt patching work as part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance. To manage traffic flow and reduce disruptions, flaggers will be on-site to guide vehicles through the construction area. According to the DOTD, the work is part of routine efforts to maintain road safety and ensure long-term usability, despite the temporary inconvenience to daily travel.
Local residents are advised to use caution when driving, walking, or biking near the active construction zone. Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, take alternate routes if possible, or leave earlier to avoid potential delays caused by the right-lane closure.
