Students at the Roosevelt School in Hyde Park participated in a Bike Safety Day event hosted by officers from District E-18 and the BPD Bike Unit. According to a statement from the Boston Police Department, the event focused on teaching students about helmet use, safe riding techniques, and general bike safety.
Students also had the opportunity to practice riding, with some receiving help from officers to remove training wheels and improve their skills. Officers and students interacted during the event, with students trying out police bikes and officers attempting to ride the smaller children's bikes.
The Boston Police Department thanked Roosevelt School for hosting the event and reminded the community, “Stay safe and ride smart this summer!”
