Boston police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found early this morning near the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway rail trail in East Boston.
According to MassLive, officers responded just before 7 a.m. to a call near South Bremen and Marginal Streets, where the woman was found unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to a police spokesperson. As of this afternoon, no arrests had been made, and there were no signs of foul play.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of death. The woman's identity has not been released, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
As per The Boston Globe, the woman was located just before 6:45 a.m. Boston Police Department spokesperson Mark Marron said the case is not currently being treated as suspicious, but detectives are still gathering information.
