The local community and Boston Police Department's District E-5 came together in a classic display of neighborhood camaraderie. This took place at the Holy Name Parish School's annual Field Day celebration, according to a Boston Police Department report.
Captain Michael Hegarty and his team took this opportunity to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community, with students getting a front-row seat to a live demonstration from the BPD's K-9 Unit where K-9 Storm showcased his adept object detection skills in an impressive demonstration that had the audience spellbound, it was a rare opportunity to see the celebrated skill of these trained canines up close and personal.
The day wasn't just about showcasing police operations but also about engaging in lighter, more relaxing activities – the BPD Ice Cream Truck made a much-anticipated appearance, providing a sweet respite from the day's activities, all thanks to the financial support from the Boston Police Foundation’s COP Fund and the generous collaboration with HP Hood.
