The officers arrived in their branded BPD Ice Cream Truck, doling out ice cream to the graduating students as part of their "Moving On Celebration." This community engagement event showcased the department's efforts to strengthen ties with the youth and the neighborhoods they serve.
According to the police department’s website, the students at the Hurley School were greeted with "sweet treats and warm smiles" from the officers; the website underscored the importance of such moments for fostering a sense of community connection, celebration, and support, officers were honored to share in this significant day with the students, treating it as an opportunity to build positive associations and rapport with the community's young people.
