On Sunday, Brentwood was broken by the telltale signs of a vehicle burglary in progress at the Walnut Acres Mobile Home Park. The Brentwood Police Department, in a social media post, reported that their officers were dispatched to the scene around 11 PM after a caller witnessed a suspect pillaging a vehicle. The quick response of the police led to an unsettling discovery, the intruder had also targeted two additional vehicles in the vicinity.
An ensuing search around the neighborhood culminated in locating 34-year-old Kyle Simpkin of Brentwood. Simpkin was apprehended while in possession of various stolen items. The police took swift action, arresting him and booking him into the Martinez Detention Facility on related charges. The Brentwood Police Department stated, "Fortunately, the stolen property was recovered and returned to its rightful owners," providing solace to an otherwise distressing situation.
