A late-night argument between brothers in Surprise turned fatal on Friday. According to ABC15, police received a call shortly after 11:00 p.m., responding to a residence near Reems and Waddell roads where they found the situation had escalated to a shooting, with one brother shot.
The confrontation claimed the life of 48-year-old Jason Pine, the alleged shooting was carried out by his younger brother, Justin Pine aged 45, who was then detained by law enforcement, as the Surprise Police Department clarified that the shooting occurred following a heated argument though the subjects and substance of which remin unclarified at this point. Following the incident, police have assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood.
Further detailing the occurrence, 12News reports that Justin Pine called 911 immediately after the shooting and is now facing serious charges, including second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and disorderly conduct in the aftermath of what police have described as a domestic violence incident.
