Buckeye is set to celebrate Independence Day with a splash, and yes, some booms too. City offices, libraries, and recreation centers will be taking a break on July 4, in favor of some festivities. While these public venues will be closed, the Buckeye Aquatic Center is going against the flow, staying open from noon to 5 p.m. for that "Patriotic Pool Party" vibe. And for those who've served, flashing a military ID gets you and three lucky pals free entry, according to an announcement on the City of Buckeye's official website.
Buckeye residents with Friday trash pickup should put their containers out by 5:30 a.m. as usual. The big highlight, though, is the city's free Independence Day celebration at the Buckeye Municipal Airport (3000 S. Palo Verde Road) from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, games, live music, and plenty of fun for the whole family. The night ends with a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m, as reported by the City of Buckeye.
