A 36-year-old Calhoun man, Casey Herron, has been arrested and charged with making terroristic threats after allegedly threatening to shoot Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agents.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident began Sunday when Herron contacted the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS), claiming he might shoot GBI agents. GEMA/HS notified the GBI, Gordon County 911, and the Calhoun Police Department.
Yesterday afternoon, authorities executed a search warrant at Herron’s residence on Jolly Road NW in Calhoun, where he was arrested without incident, Atlanta News First reports.
Herron was booked into the Gordon County Jail. The investigation remains active, and no further details about the threat or circumstances have been released.
The GBI acknowledged the support of the Calhoun Police Department and GEMA/HS. Officials are asking anyone with additional information to contact them at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), online, or through the See Something, Send Something app. The case will be forwarded to the Gordon County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution once the investigation is complete.
