Summer is creeping up on us, and with it comes the return of weekend watercraft and yard game rentals in Carver County Parks. According to a recent announcement on their Facebook page, starting June 7, these seasonal activities will be up for grabs every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather slinging its mood around.
Those looking to paddle around can head to Lake Waconia Regional Park or Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, with the caveat that paddlers must be at least 12 years old and those under 16 need an adult to accompany them, which is to say, to keep things safe and sane. Baylor Regional Park, on the other hand, will stick to offering a smorgasbord of yard games for all ages. Watercraft rentals are by the hour, fitting nicely into an afternoon on the lake, whereas the yard games at Baylor can be rented in two-hour increments - perfect for challenging your friends or family to a friendly – or fiercely competitive – game of cornhole or bocce ball.
It's an initiative by the parks to offer more outdoor recreational options, particularly as the warm weather invites people to explore and enjoy the scenic beauty of the county's parks. "Looking for fun ways to enjoy the summer weekends?" the Carver County Parks social media post beckons, hinting at relaxing days in the sun or spirited competition on lush lawns.
So mark your calendars for June 7 and practice your paddle stroke or your horseshoe pitch. Whichever park you choose to visit this summer, the promise of sun-soaked leisure or the thrill of a friendly match awaits. Just be ready to enjoy some of the best outdoor activities Carver County has to offer, with Lake Waconia ready to provide both watercraft and yard games for the full spectrum of weekend warriors.
