Two local bridge repair specialists took a break from their usual duties to engage with young minds at River Mill Elementary School’s recent career day.
Ryan Tesdal, a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 3, and Kevin Morris, his supervisor, shared their experiences working with the Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development (DTD) to a curious audience of students. The pair answered questions about what they enjoy in their jobs and emphasized safety as their number one concern.
As part of Clackamas County's outreach, these two public servants have made it their business to not only maintain bridges but also to connect with the community. Tesdal, in particular, expressed his enjoyment in these interactions, remarking in a statement obtained by Clackamas County news, "It’s really fun interacting with the kids and other community members." Their involvement has extended beyond elementary schools, having also attended various high school career fairs and Women in Trades events throughout Oregon City, Estacada, and surrounding areas.
