Summer plans hit a snag for beachgoers looking forward to soaking up the sun at Collinwood Regional Park & Campground, as the beach faces a temporary shutdown due to unwelcome bacteria. According to Wright County, MN, officials have hoisted the red flag on swimming activities after tests revealed that the water quality doesn't meet health standards.
Starting Friday, June 6, swimming will be prohibited due to contamination, as per Wright County. The beach will remain closed until further notice, but visitors can still enjoy the sandy areas for sunbathing or beach volleyball.
Retesting is scheduled for Monday, June 9. Visitors can find updates on the reopening of the beach as they become available through the park's official announcements.
