The Town of Davie has announced their office closures and service changes for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, ensuring residents can plan ahead for the long weekend. According to an announcement on the town’s official website, municipal offices will be closed on July 3 and 4, with normal hours resuming on Monday, July 7. The closures will particularly affect the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department’s Administration and Special Events offices.

Even though the administrative offices are taking a break, Davie’s recreational services are to still largely remain available for public enjoyment. Town parks and playgrounds will open from 9 a.m. to sunset, but with varied closing times for certain parks on both days. For instance, Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex will close at 10 p.m. on July 3, yet it will not open until 5 p.m. on July 4 for a “Fun on the Fourth” event exclusive to Davie residents. Notably, the Betty Booth Roberts Pool will continue to welcome guests from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Residents can also rest assured that some of the essential services will continue without interruption. "Garbage and bulk trash pick-up services will operate on the normal schedule on July 4, 2025," as per the town notice. The Davie solid waste management urges community members to stick to the regular guidelines when leaving items at the curb.

On the transportation front, the Independence Day weekend will see most bus routes operating on their regular schedules, with the exception of the Tri-Rail/SFEC campus shuttle, which will be taking a hiatus on July 4.

Firework safety is also a priority for the town officials, especially around this festive time. "The Davie Police Department and Code Compliance Division will be placing fireworks safety signs throughout the community," reminding citizens of their responsibility towards neighbors, pets, and livestock. Furthermore, Davie has also set up a “Firework Hotline” available from July 3, at 7 p.m., through July 6, at 7 p.m., to report illegal fireworks activities, as detailed by the Town of Davie.
