Deerfield Beach residents are invited to take advantage of a free shredding event on Friday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bernard Adams Municipal Complex, located at 401 SW 4th Street. Sponsored by the City, the event offers a secure and convenient way to dispose of old files and confidential paperwork, helping the community protect personal information while clearing out clutter.
However, participants are responsible for preparing their documents before drop-off by removing all large metal and plastic clips, binder spines, and plastic notebook covers. According to the City of Deerfield Beach, file folders, paperclips, and staples are acceptable. To take part in the event, each resident may bring up to two boxes of materials for shredding.
It’s not a free-for-all—this event is reserved exclusively for Deerfield Beach residents. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, will be required at the gate to ensure the service is limited to those it’s intended for. Additional information on this paper-shedding soiree, including the monthly schedule for future events, can be found at the city’s official website. Residents looking for more details or eager to plan ahead for their paper disposal needs should visit www.DFB.city/cityshred, where all the particulars are posted.
