Deerfield Beach is planning a high-tech 4th of July celebration that’s expected to draw both locals and visitors, adding a modern touch to the traditional fireworks show. They're planning to host their inaugural drone show during this year's Independence Day festivities at the Main Beach Parking Lot (149 SE 21st Ave). The event, set for Friday, July 4, kicks off at 4:00 PM and will feature a smorgasbord of activities designed to entertain the entire family.
As reported by the city's official announcement, the revelry will include live entertainment, an assortment of food trucks to satiate every palate, as well as an array of local vendors and cool beverages. Children will have their own set of engaging activities to indulge in. But the highlight of the occasion is the drone show, scheduled to light up the night sky at 9:00 PM uniquely.
Several closures will be in place to ensure the event goes off without a hitch. According to a statement obtained by Deerfield Beach's news announcement, these include the beach and volleyball courts from the Pier to NE 4th Ct., along with the International Fishing Pier and its adjacent parking lot, which are closed for ongoing renovations. Roads encompassing NE 2nd St to NE 21st Ave and Ocean Way from Hillsboro Boulevard to SE 4th Street, among others, will be inaccessible to traffic. These facilities and roads are expected to reopen on the morning of July 5.
Parking on the barrier island is set to be limited during the event, but Deerfield Beach has made arrangements for free parking at Sullivan Park and at St. Ambrose Catholic Church & School. A shuttle service will be available to take guests to and from the event. However, it's important to note that there will be no shuttle service available from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM due to the Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge being closed down to facilitate pedestrian movement.
For all those planning to join the celebration, the city has issued a firm reminder: No personal fireworks are permitted on the beach, street, or public property, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office will strictly enforce this rule. Anyone looking for further details on the 4th of July celebration can find more information through Deerfield Beach's official website or by contacting the Community Events Division directly.
