During the chase for a car linked to multiple armed robberies, the officer's vehicle collided with the dump truck. Responding officers quickly extracted the injured colleague from the wrecked SUV and medics transported him to a local hospital, where he is expected to recover.
While pursuing the white, four-door 2015 Nissan Maxima, with a Florida license plate DVN3211, it was noted by AJC that the officer's vehicle impacted the back of the dump truck, which was stopped near Charlie Yates Golf Course. The car, reported stolen from Rockdale County, eluded capture and is currently being sought by the authorities.
The collision's aftermath revealed a damaged dump truck and the officer's significantly crushed SUV.
