
A bout of violence erupted early today in downtown Cincinnati, leaving two people injured following a bar fight that escalated into a shootout. Local 12 reported that the incident, which transpired around 2:45 a.m. at the Envy Lounge near the intersection of 7th Street and Walnut Street, involved a group of females whose altercation moved from inside to outside of the bar. During the clash, shots were fired, resulting in a 29-year-old woman sustaining a gunshot wound to her thigh and shrapnel injuries to her shoulder.
While the Cincinnati Police Department has yet to apprehend a suspect, investigators are reviewing video footage and believe they stand a strong chance of identifying those involved, as stated by LOCAL12. Authorities have provided preliminary details that the woman was taken to UC Medical Center along with another individual, who suffered a head injury after being kicked.
The second report by WLWT highlights that the fray involved seven women and mentions two separate shooters partaking in the exchange of gunfire. The second individual, also a female, required medical attention following the tumultuous event. The condition of the 29-year-old shooting victim is currently reported as stable.
Adding to the compilation of events, WCPO states the fray actually commenced around 2:30 a.m. and unfolded across from the Aronoff Center. Further investigations are ongoing, and despite the lack of suspect information at this time, police continue to sift through additional surveillance material, hoping to glean insight into the perpetrator's identity and the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
