In an unfortunate turn of events, a serious car crash occurred yesterday morning, at approximately 12:13 a.m. on Campbellton Rd, where three vehicles were involved in a harrowing collision. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the accident began when a black Chevrolet Malibu, traveling at a high speed toward the east, made an erratic move to avoid colliding with a black BMW near Country Line Rd SW.
The attempt to dodge an accident led to a series of unfortunate events, the Chevrolet swerved off the road and struck a telephone pole, subsequently lost control and rammed into a white Nissan Armada, before careening into the opposite lane colliding head-on with a black Tesla. Upon arrival at the scene, Zone 4 officers called for backup from the Accident Investigations Unit to take over the inquiry into the incident. The chain reaction of impacts resulted in one passenger from the Chevrolet sustaining severe injuries and a subsequent emergency transport to Grady Hospital, while the driver of the same vehicle was taken later in stable condition; the other drivers involved escaped unharmed.
The incident has prompted an ongoing investigation, with the Chevrolet's driver suspected of driving under the influence.
