The e-bike rider was heading north on Fairmount Avenue and collided with a vehicle driven by a 66-year-old man transitioning from the Montezuma Road ramp onto Fairmount Avenue. According to the release, the woman exited the marked bicycle lane prematurely and struck the driver-side mirror of the male driver’s vehicle. Although alcohol was not considered a contributing factor to this incident, the Traffic Division is handling the investigation, and they are urging anyone with information to get in contact.

As a result of the collision, the woman sustained serious injuries, including a fractured hip and wrist, and had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment. The San Diego Police Department has not provided further details on her condition following her admittance.
