Drivers in East Memphis should be aware that sewer repairs are underway on Humphreys Boulevard, expected to impact traffic for approximately eight weeks. According to a statement from the City of Memphis, lane closures are now in effect on both Humphreys Boulevard and Shady Grove to allow for essential infrastructure work.
The disruption includes a curbside lane closure beginning at Rue Beaumonde Drive, extending along Humphreys Drive and continuing to South Murray Hill Drive. Temporary ramps are being installed to maintain property access; however, they block the entrance to Murray Hill Lane, requiring residents in the area to use these alternate passageways for access.
The closure continues around the corner, remaining in the curbside lane and extending to Shady Grove, ending just east of Wynfrey Place. Acknowledging the disruption caused by the repairs, the city has expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during this period of routine interruption.
