An ongoing sewer repair project is causing partial lane closures that are expected to last for two months, as detailed in a statement released by Memphis city officials. The repair work that started recently has shut down one lane on Humphreys Boulevard and one on Shady Grove, likely triggering some delays for daily travelers.
As part of the traffic rerouting, a bypass pump installation on Rue Beaumonde Drive is bringing about the temporary lane closure, it extends down Humphreys Drive's curbside lane. The path of the closure will make its way across the entrance to South Murray Hill Drive, where temporary road ramps have been put in place to provide unimpeded access to properties. This setup will be a relief for local residents, but can cause additional complications for through traffic.
Moving on, the blockage also affects the entrance to Murray Hill Lane. As the city's announcement outlined, residents there must divert using the temporary ramps at South Murray Hill Drive to reach their homes.
