A motorcycle crash early Friday morning has resulted in the closure of all eastbound lanes of Interstate 74 in Green Township. The incident was first reported around 8:30 a.m., and the closure affects the area beyond the Rybolt Road/Harrison Pike exit, as confirmed by local law enforcement and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Commuters were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the standstill on the highway.
By mid-morning, the repercussions of the crash had caused traffic backups, and the arterial conduit through Green Township was effectively paralyzed as authorities converged upon the crumpled wreckage. ODOT reported the impact on travel via their official Twitter account, suggesting detours and promising updates. As per FOX19, Green Township police indicated that since the investigation is active, details were sparse from their quarters.
Serious injuries have been reported by ODOT, however, confirmation on the number and severity of these injuries has yet to be released, leaving a vacuum where specifics should paint the scene for concerned locals and those with kin on the road. WLWT pointed out the serious nature of the incident, although by press time, verification of the condition of those involved in the crash was still forthcoming.
