An Ecuadorian national, identified as Dario Javier Trejo-Burbano, was found guilty on Tuesday of illegal entry and violation of a national defense area in El Paso, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Court documents and evidence presented at trial indicated that Trejo-Burbano entered the United States on May 8, 2025, which is a restricted area demarcated by the Department of the Army.
While passing through, Senior U.S. District Judge David Briones was the one who delivered the verdict against Trejo-Burbano. U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons announced that the case is a part of Operation Take Back America, a concerted effort by the Department of Justice aimed at halting illegal immigration, dismantling cartels, and stemming violent crime in communities.
The crackdown is being hailed as a significant step in Operation Take Back America, which coordinates the concerted Department of Justice initiatives, like the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood, for the objectives of securing America’s borders and populations. The case was investigated by the U.S. Border Patrol, as noted in the announcement.
