As the sun shines longer and the weather warms up, it's time for Eden Prairie residents to get active and immerse themselves in community activities. The Eden Prairie Community Center is rolling out a summer's worth of programming designed to engage, entertain, and promote health among its members. According to the Community Center's latest bulletin, the center offers a slate of fitness programs, including free outdoor yoga, Zumba, tai chi, and the energetic POUND® classes, perfect for anyone looking to diversify their workout routine in the fresh air.

Commitment to community well-being doesn't stop there, as the Community Center celebrates its members from June 1 through August 31 with some special perks. Member appreciation comes in the form of free guest passes, giveaways, and special discounts, as detailed in the City of Eden Prairie, MN bulletin. And for those who've been considering membership, there is no better time than now to become part of the close-knit Eden Prairie Community Center family.

Another cornerstone event of the season is the Parkinson's Resource Fair scheduled for June 11. In partnership with the Parkinson's Foundation, this educational gathering features a talk by neurologist Dr. Meaghan Berns from M Health Fairview and presents a range of support services for those navigating life with Parkinson’s disease. Attendance is free, but registration is required, making it a valuable opportunity for individuals with Parkinson's, their families, and friends to learn about available resources and support.

Joy and inclusivity are at the heart of the upcoming Party for Pride event on June 21. Open to everyone, this free event promises a colorful array of group fitness classes, a foam pit, a puppy parade, food trucks, and a dance party. According to the annual bulletin, attendees are encouraged to come "dressed to move in your loudest and proudest pride gear." In line with the inclusive spirit, sensory-friendly open swimming sessions will be held on June 8 and 22, providing a tranquil environment for those who may be overwhelmed by the common hustle and bustle of public pools.

The Community Center is also proud to announce the return of Josh Rockey as the new Customer Experience Recreation Supervisor. Rockey's career has come full circle, rejoining the center from the Senior Center to take on new challenges, with his wealth of experience and dedication to serving the community set to further enhance the Member Experience.

Maintenance notes and scheduling should be on the radar of regular patrons, with temporary hot tub closures planned for June 3 and 17.
