The El Paso Police Department had a bustling May, filled with a series of events that forged community spirit and celebrated the dedication of its officers. Taking to their official Facebook page, the department shared a photo set recap marking the significant happenings. Highlights included the largest academy graduation in five years, the commemoration of National Police Week, and the 152nd anniversary of the historic El Paso Police Department.
Amidst these festivities, the department also engaged with residents through numerous community events, emphasizing its commitment to public welfare. Events such as car seat inspections demonstrate the everyday interactions between police and residents, aiming to ensure safety beyond the call of duty. The academy's considerable graduation underscored a noticeable rebound since the constraints seen back in 2020, signaling a resurgence in individuals choosing to embark on careers in law enforcement.
In their social media post, the EPPD extended their gratitude to the locals, stating, "Wrapping up the month a big thank you to the community for your continuous support and thanks to the officers out there keeping El Paso safe every day," as per the El Paso Police Department.
