El Paso Police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Chit Chat Bar, authorities say. According to the El Paso Police Department, patrol officers were performing a routine bar check at the establishment located at 4808 Dyer when they heard a gunshot at approximately 1 am.
The officers discovered 31-year-old Damian Arce suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being quickly transported to a local hospital, Arce succumbed to his injuries. The Crimes Against Persons unit has since taken over the ongoing investigation. It has been disclosed that before the shooting, Arce was engaged in a confrontation with an unidentified male, which ostensibly led to the fatal incident. The suspect is reported to have fled immediately after.
In their effort to apprehend the perpetrator, law enforcement is turning to the community for assistance.
