Fire crews responded to a high-rise fire near Boston’s Prudential Center this morning, prompting an evacuation of the building at 101 Huntington Avenue. According to the Boston Fire Department post on X, the fire started in a mechanical room on the 14th floor. Evacuation efforts began around 10:30 a.m.

Multiple ladder trucks were deployed, and firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Live video footage showed emergency vehicles at the scene. NBC Boston reported that traffic in the area was heavily impacted, including delays on the I-90 east ramp to Copley.
Officials have not yet released details on the cause of the fire or whether there were any injuries. First responders remained on-site to secure the area and assess the situation.
Authorities advised commuters to use alternate routes as traffic backups continued. Additional updates will be released as more information becomes available.
