Drivers in St. Peters, you'll need to brace yourselves for slight delays next week. City St. Peters' officials have announced that one northbound lane on Jungermann Road will be closed for street paving work on Tuesday and Wednesday. The closure will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The work is slated to occur north of Sutters Mill Road and involves the area up to an area north of Le-Jer Lane.
The lane closure is part of an ongoing effort to enhance city streets. For those of you hitting the road during this timeframe, the northern stretch past Papa John's up to the stretch just north of Le-Jer Lane will be reduced to a single lane. Prepare for minor backups, as construction work typically adds a wrinkle to daily commutes. Jungermann road warriors are advised to use the zipper merge technique—a strategy meant to ease congestion by allowing cars to take turns merging into the open lane.
While the construction needed, local drivers might be feeling the all-too-familiar frustrations of road work disruptions. However, city officials promise the result will be smoother and safer streets.
Residents and commuters are urged to be vigilant and adhere to the posted warning signs. Navigating through the construction area safely should be a priority for everyone on the road.
