The Solano County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Martin Perez, a 29-year-old Fairfield resident, on charges related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. Officials from the department’s Investigations Bureau and the Solano County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET) executed a search warrant last Wednesday, collecting multiple electronic devices allegedly containing illicit content. This bust punctuates a larger investigation focused on individuals trading explicit photos and videos with minors.
In a recent operation intended to dismantle a network for distributing child sexual abuse material, detectives had identified Perez as a suspect reportedly engaging minors in explicit exchanges. The arrest, conducted without incident, resulted in Perez's booking at the Solano County Jail. He now faces several charges, including possession and distribution of child pornography as well as attempting to seduce a minor. Perez's bail has been set at $245,000. In a Facebook post detailing the arrest, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office stated, "The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting our community, especially our most vulnerable members."
The investigation by the local sheriff's office is ongoing, with the collaboration of federal and state agencies to thoroughly analyze all seized evidence. Authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information to step forward and contact the Solano County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau at (707) 784-7050.
