The Town of Farragut's Engineering Department is stepping up to the plate once again to enhance connectivity and accessibility along Virtue Road. They've announced a public meeting to present and discuss the Phase 2 design plans for the much-anticipated road improvements. It's slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday, July 9, at the local favorite hangout, the Farragut Community Center. This next stage will stretch its efforts from Vista Brook Lane to 2,200 feet south of Broadway Drive, according to the town official website.
Residents can look forward to a setup that's intimate and interactive at the meeting. They'll be breaking bread at small tables equipped with design plans, where engineers will be stationed, eager to address concerns and questions. Completed back in April of last year, Phase 1 of the project apparently left an impression good enough to pave the way for Phase 2.
So, what's going down on Virtue Road for this sequel? Talks are of two 11-foot lanes, complete with curb and gutter—not to mention, a multi-use greenway/boardwalk to add some green to the scene. With alternate transportation and outdoor activities on the rise, this boardwalk is poised to become a focal point for weekend warriors and commuters alike.
