A motorcyclist died and another driver was seriously injured in a collision on Cape Cod yesterday, according to local authorities. The crash happened around 1:27 p.m. on West Falmouth Highway/Route 28 when a vehicle entering the road failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle, NBC Boston reported.

The motorcyclist, identified as 65-year-old Kenneth Lavache of Hudson, was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other driver was hospitalized with serious injuries and is expected to recover, WHDH reported.

Falmouth Police responded to the crash, which occurred just south of Braeside Road. The investigation has since been turned over to the Massachusetts State Police.

Authorities have not confirmed whether any charges will be filed, though Falmouth Police indicated the vehicle failed to yield to Lavache’s motorcycle. The investigation is ongoing.
