A fatal traffic accident occurred yesterday, around the early morning hours on I-20 Westbound near Lee St. Officials reported that the crash involved several vehicles, which led to a tragic outcome for one driver, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
The incident began with a collision between a Ford Focus and Ford Ranger, resulting in slowed traffic along the westbound lane. Among the vehicles affected by the slowdown, was a tractor-trailer, that managed to stop. Subsequently, a Ford Expedition collided with the rear of the stopped tractor-trailer. The impact was fatal for the driver of the Expedition, who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
In response to the accident, the Atlanta Police Department's Accident Investigations Unit took charge of the scene. They are implementing investigative procedures to determine what factors led to the fatal series of events. At this time, the investigation remains active with no definitive conclusions being released to the public.
