Tragedy struck the community of Baden yesterday evening when a man was fatally shot and two others sustained injuries in a burst of gunfire. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the 8300 block of N. Broadway, following a call about the shooting just after 5 p.m., which resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man, identified as Michael Maxon of Castle Point, MO, and injured a young child and another adult male.
According to the official release by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the two initial victims, namely Michael Maxon and an 8-year-old girl, were found in the parking lot of the Elite Supermarket, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a graze wound to her arm respectively. The third victim, a 25-year-old man found with an injury to his leg, was located a block away.
Homicide detectives are piecing together what transpired, and it has come to light that the victims were sitting inside a vehicle when an unknown assailant unleashed violence upon them. It is believed that an altercation occurred before the shooting, setting off a chain of events that led to this tragic outcome. "EMS responded and pronounced the 22-year-old man dead at the scene," the statement read, highlighting the immediate aftermath that unfolded.
