Flagstaff residents living in Presidio and Crestview, you might need to adjust your travel plans for June 10. The City of Flagstaff has announced that as part of their ongoing commitment to road maintenance and safety, specified streets in these neighborhoods will be subject to full closure for a portion of the day to allow for road work.
According to the city’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety Program schedule, C & E Paving and Grading will be out in force, applying sealant to the roads to extend their lifespan. In Presidio, closures will impact Josselyn Dr., Wright Rd., CJ Dr., Bruce Balle Dr., Pantano Seco Ln., Pepita Dr., Paz De Avenida, Tex Ln., Camel Dr., and Pardo Calle from 8 am to 12 pm; meanwhile, in Crestview, Windtree Dr., Alamo Dr., Hare Dr., Putnam Dr., Talley Ln., and Millis Ln. will be closed from 12 pm to 4 pm.
Residents have been advised to park their vehicles elsewhere if they plan to venture out during the times roads will be getting this treatment because not only cars but also pedestrians and cyclists are being warned off these surfaces until the sealant dries, and indeed the material is said to be "extremely sticky" while it sets, which necessitates the thorough closures, as reported by the city's official website.
