An incident on Loop 303 in the west Valley has left a food truck driver seriously injured after a severe crash on Tuesday. Fox 10 Phoenix reported that the crash occurred on Indian School Road when the driver, now hospitalized, lost control due to a tire blowout. Following the loss of control, the truck crossed into opposite lanes and overturned, leading to a temporary closure of the northbound lanes at Interstate 10.
Adding further to the unfortunate events, the driver was ejected from the truck during the accident, as noted by ABC15. While no other vehicles were involved and no one else was in the truck, the rollover resulted in a hazardous mess as various liquids and oils from the truck's cargo spilled onto the roadway. The Goodyear Fire Department Hazmat teams arrived at the scene to manage the spill, fortunately finding no propane or natural gas leaks amidst the debris and fluids.
The extent of the driver's injuries has not been disclosed, but they were described as serious. The incident has sparked an investigation by The Department of Public Safety, which will look into the precise causes leading up to the crash. The southbound lanes reportedly remained unaffected by the mishap on Loop 303, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
According to reports, emergency crews responded to the call near Indian School Road around 11 a.m. The road was reopened after the northbound lanes succumbed to a brief closure to address the aftermath of the rollover and facilitate clean-up efforts, as per FOX 10 Phoenix.
