A Fort Lauderdale resident is calling for justice after her two Tesla vehicles were struck and her yard was left in disarray, due to a hit-and-run incident that occurred last Saturday morning. According to a report by WSVN, Argeri Sequeira’s Tesla Model 3 and Cybertruck were parked in her driveway when an SUV careened through her property, also creating tire tracks across her lawn before speeding away.
Surveillance footage captured the moment the vehicle tore through Sequeira’s front yard, "hitting two parked cars before getting away with the bumper hanging off the back," as reported by WSVN. Witnesses expressed disbelief and concern during the incident — one was heard saying, “Are you [expletive] kidding me? Stay in your [expletive] car. Don’t you [expletive] leave.” Sequeira described the noise of the collision as "like an explosion in the middle of the night," and told WSVN that she is expecting the responsible parties to "face the consequence of their actions."
The Fort Lauderdale Police responded to the hit-and-run reported at the intersection of Southwest 31st Avenue and 17th Street, where it's believed another vehicle was involved in the initial crash on the road. The aftermath was also covered by Local 10 News, showing the significant damage caused by the SUV, including deeply rutted tire tracks and scattered debris.
The home security system provided a closer look at the chaotic scene, capturing two individuals leaving the SUV — one reportedly bleeding from the nose. "Seconds later, two individuals can be seen stumbling out of the SUV — one of them bleeding from the nose," according to Local 10 News. Sequeira expressed to Local 10 News how the harrowing event has disrupted her sense of security, saying, “It’s difficult to sleep here after this. You’re waiting and expecting another accident in the middle of the night.” Both of the damaged vehicles had to be towed from the property.
In the wake of the incident, Fort Lauderdale Police have confirmed that one person from the SUV was transported to Broward Health Medical Center with minor injuries. As the search for the driver responsible continues, authorities are appealing to the public for any information regarding the hit-and-run. Broward County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for details that can help in finding the driver. Individuals with any knowledge of the event are encouraged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477. Callers have the option to remain anonymous.
